About CHANGE

CHANGE

was born from a childhood dream of our founder, envisioned at the age of 11. This dream matured over the years through experiences in teaching martial arts, tutoring, and a pursuit of a degree in psychology, including an internship at a special needs school. These experiences shaped the foundation of CHANGE, a swim school dedicated to nurturing grit, perseverance, and growth through sports.

At CHANGE, we primarily focus on children, helping each one reach their full potential, whether aiming for competitive excellence or embracing swimming as a healthy lifestyle. We differentiate ourselves by actively participating in various competitions and events that go beyond the norm, ensuring our students embody the values of Compassion, Humility, Autonomy, Nonpareil , Grit, and Esprit de corps.

Our dedicated team of certified coaches continuously strives for excellence, aligning with our philosophy of nonpareil—always seeking improvement and the best for our students. We have celebrated small successes in competitions and proudly formed the largest team for Swim for Hope, a charity event supporting individuals with physical disabilities and other disadvantaged groups.

Looking ahead, our aspirations include forming a competitive swim team and expanding our impact by offering free lessons to underprivileged children. At CHANGE, we are not just about swimming; we are about building character and creating a supportive community where every child can thrive.

Our Values

  • Compassion
    • We teach compassion by encouraging students to support each other, whether by cheering on a classmate during practice or helping those who may struggle. Our coaches model compassion by being patient and attentive to each student’s needs.
  • Humility
    • We instill humility by celebrating collective achievements and teaching students to learn from setbacks. Coaches emphasize the importance of progress over perfection and encourage students to stay teachable, no matter their skill level
  • Autonomy (Internal Locus of Control)
    • At CHANGE, we encourage students to set personal goals and reflect on their progress and teach them to focus only on things within their control. This helps them build self-motivation and responsibility for their own improvement, both in swimming and beyond.
  • Nonpareil (To be the best)
    • We present this value by setting high standards for both students and coaches. Our team consistently upgrades their skills, and we challenge students to go beyond their comfort zones, whether through participating in competitions or mastering new techniques.
  • Grit (Resilience/Hardiness)
    • We build grit by exposing students to challenges that push their limits, such as competitive events or endurance drills. Coaches provide encouragement and constructive feedback, helping students learn that setbacks are opportunities for growth.
  • Espirit de corps (Teamwork)
    • At CHANGE, we cultivate esprit de corps through team activities, group training, and events that require collaboration. We encourage students to view each other not just as competitors but as teammates who share common goals and values.
